Who wants to experience that period bloody horror scene on vacation, preferably at sunny, Italian beach with staring at you those big eyes of Italian children with dripping ice cream on the sand? - Well certainly not me :)
When you know that menstruation will be on your birthday, might appear on your vacation, during an important presentation on stage, or during your marathon run—or any other day that could turn into a day of horror—there is something that could help you!

Vitamin C – delays menstruation. If you will start to take Vitamin C only couple days before the menstruation, it will not have any affect. But if you plan and start taking a week or couple weeks before, then it will help you to delay menstruation in 2-3 days, depending on your body health, it might be more or less.
Vitamin C is actually quite wonderful vitamin, according the research „high doses of vitamins C and E from the first day of weaning can partially prevent age-related reduction in ovulation rate in mice, potentially preventing or delaying maternal-age-associated infertility in humans.“ [1]
According results of 109 clinical trial in Mexico, „daily supplementation with 100 mg vitamin C after 20 weeks of gestation effectively reduces the incidence of premature rupture of chorioamniotic membranes (PROM).“ [2]
That sounds really promising.
